Plans to make improvements to the Boulder Bay Park are still in the works. The Planning Commission of Big Bear Lake reviewed and approved the revised planting list, including the placement of new trees, at their meeting of February 4; and these plans will now go before City Council for their review at a future meeting. The Planning Commission, now under the direction of Chairman Anne Zimmerman, also approved all three items up for discussion during the Public Hearing portion of their meeting. Snow Summit was granted permission to replace an existing building with a two-story, 18,000 square foot beginners center at the eastern side of the ski resort; the Bear Valley Center for Spiritual Enrichment received approval to operate their church, bookstore and gift shop at 578 Bonanza Trail in the Village; and approval was also granted to establish a four-room bed and breakfast and three-unit commercial lodge in existing residential structures located at 415 and 425 Conklin Road.
