Big Bear, Ca, July 1, 2011, 2:00pm – Cal Fire and our local fire departments are reminding residents and visitors to the Big Bear Valley and surrounding communities to be fire wise and fire safe this 4th of July holiday, and to remind everyone that absolutely no fireworks are allowed in the San Bernardino Mountains. According to Cal Fire anyone who is caught using fireworks may be subject to arrest or citation. Not only are fireworks illegal throughout the entire Big Bear Valley, but numerous fires have resulted from their use, as well as the severe injuries they may cause to the users. The Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake will provide locals and visitors with a world class fireworks display over the lake on Monday July 4th. Enjoy the show, and do not use your own fireworks.
