Big Bear, Ca, September 22, 2011, 8:00am – Shortly after noon yesterday, deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff Station made a routine traffic stop on Big Tree Drive near the intersection of Big Bear Blvd. A search of the vehicle, belonging to 30 year old Robert Trionfi, who is currently on parole, led to the discovery of marijuana inside the vehicle. According to the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station, as deputies were searching Trionfi, he attempted to flee the scene by running towards Country Club blvd. A short foot pursuit occurred and Trionfi was taken into custody without incident. During the good pursuit, deputies observed Trionfi throwing an object on the ground, which after being recovered by deputies found to be a bag of methamphetamine. An additional investigation of the matter led to the discovery of stolen property found inside Trionfi’s Vehicle. The property owner has been identified and notified of the recovery of stolen property. Trionfi was booked at the Big Bear Jail on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales and possession of stolen property. Suspect Trionfi remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail. An arraignment hearing in this matter is set for September 23rd at the San Bernardino County Superior Court.
