The parent support group Common Ground, an off-shoot of the Lighthouse Project, is offering a special parenting seminar for those seeking a closer relationship with their children. Mark Hobbins, founder of national parenting education group Family IQ, will be in Big Bear next Saturday, February 28 for a presentation titled “9 Ways to Strengthen Your Relationship With Your Child.” The 1½ hour talk, which begins at 10am at Community Church, will be followed by a group discussion. Per the parents behind Common Ground, this seminar is designed to lighten the burden for parents, by providing tools and resources, and lessening the feeling of isolaton by enveloping our community in a blanket of support.
