Big Bear, CA, December 23, 2015 – The Big Bear Fire Department will spread Christmas cheer this year as “Old Red” lights up for the Holidays! The 1950 FWD fire engine was recently featured in a mini parade, decorated bumper to bumper in Christmas lights with American flags blazing, followed closely by Medic Engine 281 playing Christmas carols through their P.A. system and Medic Ambulance 281 with some flashing lights of it’s own. Big Bear Fire Department will continue to share “Old Red” with the community through Christmas Eve. It is the department’s way of saying thank you for the support the community shows throughout the year. Weather permitting, Old Red will roll through the streets each evening for viewing sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The parade will start at the fire station located on Big Bear Boulevard and head west. “Old Red” will then turn South on Pine Knot and west on Village Drive. The trio of vehicles will turn around at Bonanza Drive, returning on the same route.
