The Board of Directors of the Big Bear Municipal Water District—Todd Murphy, Paula Fashempour, John Eminger, Vince Smith and Skip Suhay—convene for their regular first-Thursday-of-the-month meeting this afternoon at 1pm. Today’s MWD meeting will include consideration of a proposal from Tom Dodson & Associates, to provide CEQA advisory consulting services for dredge and shoreline alteration projects, at a cost not to exceed $5000. The water district board will also discuss the sale of $250,000 in Proposition 1A receivables to California Communities; though this item will not be voted on until MWD’s October 15 meeting, the district’s General Manager Scott Heule tells KBHR that, if approved, this mechanism will allow for immediate reimbursement of revenue that could be used for budgeted projects. Meetings of the MWD Board take place at the MWD offices at 40524 Lakeview Drive, and are open to the public. Their next regular meeting, on the 15th, will be followed by a 2pm workshop to discuss lake tours and permits related to kayak and canoe rentals that are not anchored at commercial marinas.
Update: Per MWD GM Scott Heule, consulting services with Tom Dodson & Associates were approved on October 1.
