Big Bear, Ca, April 28, 2011, 12:00pm – The Mom and Dad Project is hosting “Mom’s Night Out” this Friday, April 29th from 6-9pm at Community Church by the Lake. “The Mom’s Night Out is open to everyone,” said Mom And Dad Project Director, Megan Meadors, “ We just titled it that because so many of our Mom’s need a night out!” Attendees can enjoy a catered dessert and coffee bar from the Copper Q, Chef Lynn Segrest will be doing cooking demonstrations every hour, and over 20 vendors will be in attendance. The event is a fundraiser for the Mom and Dad Project, which was recently told by First 5, one of the project’s major sources of funding, that the Car Seat Program was going to be terminated, and Meadors also told KBHR that the entire First 5 budget is subject to being cut in the next few weeks. “We continue to see a dramatic increase in families who are struggling to make ends meet.” said Meadors, “we continue to provide this community with the only child birth classes, the only Car Seat Program, the only parenting classes, Mom and Me, Dad and Me and over 40 other classes, all provided by First 5 San Bernardino, Arrowhead United Way, City of Big Bear Lake, March of Dimes, Big Bear Quilters Guild, The Presbyterian Church, Big Bear Convention Center and countless hours from our volunteers and staff. We also receive continued support from the Bear Valley Community Healthcare District, as well as the Hospital Foundation.” Meadors invites everyone to attend Mom’s Night Out for only at $10 donation per person. Also, if needed, childcare will be available at the event. For more information go to MomAndDadProject.com.
