Big Bear Lake, CA, May 9, 2011, 8:00am – A Memorial Service for Travis Carroll will be held at the Community Church of Big Bear located across the street from First Mountain Bank, on Saturday, May 14 at 1:00 pm. Travis was raised in Big Bear from the time he was four years old. He was a member of the Gold Mountain Ski Team and the Snow Summit Race Team during his elementary, junior high and high school years. He graduated from Big Bear High School in 1990. Following high school he worked at the ski slopes at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit as a ski coach. He worked for the Big Bear Municipal Water District for the past 15 years. He leaves his mother Ruth, and father Larry, and his older brother Keith, a niece Austin and nephew Nolan. Travis was 39 when he was killed while riding his bicycle on April 14. Travis passed away from his injuries at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital shortly after the accident. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be sent to the Snow Summit Race Team in care of Snow Summit.
