Mayor to Be Elected During Today’s City Council Meeting; Village Specific Plan and Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Also on Agenda

The City Council of Big Bear Lake meets at 6:30pm for their regular meeting, to be held in Hofert Hall at the Big Bear Lake Civic Center. This evening’s meeting will include the annual reorganization of Council which, at present, includes Mayor Rick Herrick (in his second term as mayor) and Mayor Pro Tem Bill Jahn; other elected Council positions include Liz Harris as Chairman of the Improvement Agency, and Herrick as Vice Chair, Darrell Mulvihill as Chairman of the Fire Protection District, and Herrick as Vice Chair on behalf of the Council that also includes Michael Karp. The December 14 meeting of City Council will also include the preliminary report for the Village Specific Plan and a Public Hearing regarding the changing of portions of Lakeview Drive to Big Bear Boulevard. Discussion items during the meeting, which is open to the public, will include the possibility of an interim urgency ordinance establishing a moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries in Big Bear Lake.
