Mailed Ballots Must Be Received by County Registrar On or Before May 19; Polls to Be Open 7am-8pm Next Tuesday

The statewide special election is just days away, and for those planning to submit a ballot for the May 19 election via mail, San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters Kari Verjil reminds voters to allow enough time for mail delivery, by mailing ballot sooner rather than later. Any ballots received after the special ballot pickup from the main San Bernardino Post Office at 8pm on the 19th will not be counted. By-mail ballots can also be dropped off at any polling place on election day, during which time polls will be open from 7am to 8pm—though ballots must be delivered by the voter. If unable to return a ballot personally, a specific family member must be authorized to do so in the space provided on the mail ballot return envelope. The Registrar of Voters will also offer Saturday voting on May 16, for those who want to avoid the lines at the polls on election day next Tuesday. The Registrar’s office is located at 777 East Rialto Avenue in San Bernardino, and will be open from 9am to 3pm this Saturday.
