The Alpine Race Series at Snow Summit, offered to both youth and adult skiers, got started over the holiday weekend, with the first of six races taking place on December 27th. In the Big Bear Masters field, top finishers in the slalom were men Nickolai Stoilov and Mark DesRochers and first place female Laura Johnson; in the 45 and over division of the Masters, Jim Gregory and Gary Wagner skied to the top spots. Big Bear’s youth also participated in the slalom race; first place finishes in novice categories went to J3 Joseph Danker, J4s Derek Wiese and Madison Ritenour, J5s Jacob Schrup and Olivia Easterby and J6 racers Alec Burton and Allison Stavish. Top slalom course finishes by members of the Snow Summit Race Team in the Alpine Race Series were J1 Patrick Paap, J2s Kelly Kai Tokunaga and Kelby Nardoni, J3s Isaac Freeland and Lyndsay Harris, J4s Parker Acosta and Rachael DesRochers, and J5 Chase Dowty.
