Lighthouse Project to Be Honored With California’s Champion of the Community Award at Today’s Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District Meeting

As expressed to City Council last week, Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District’s Reese Troublefield welcomes community input at the meetings of their Advisory Commission, which includes seven appointees who represent different parts of the Valley—those commissioners are Chairman Don Allen (for Moonridge), Vice Chair Katheryn Poole and Cassy Benson (for Big Bear City), Jennifer McCullar (for Sugarloaf), Gloria Rose (for Erwin Lake and Lake Williams), Don Pletcher (for Big Bear Lake) and Rudy Macioge (for Fawnskin). This evening’s Advisory Commission meeting, which begins at 5pm at the Big Bear Senior Center, will include the presentation of the Champion of the Community Award. This special, statewide honor from the California Parks and Recreation Society is being given to the Lighthouse Project for their Move a Million Miles for Ryan Hall campaign. Prior to the Recreation and Park District meeting at 5pm, park sub-committees from BBVRPD and the Community Services District will convene at 4pm, to discuss their joint project, Paradise Park.
