Big Bear Lake, Ca, August 16, 2010, 4:00pm The Lighthouse Project, Inc. has established the Positive Campaign Ethics Initiative. The initiative aims to improve the effectiveness of local government and agencies by encouraging a respectful campaign climate that will extend to more positive interactions among elected officials, post campaign season. The initiative includes a Positive Campaign Ethics Promise, which will be offered for all candidates to sign. It asks candidates to make a promise to campaign with respect and to maintain respectful demeanor throughout the campaign process as well as after the election. Candidates will be invited to sign the Positive Campaign Ethics Promise at that a workshop the Lighthouse Project is holding surrounding the Positive Campaign Ethics Initiative. The Lighthouse Project will also host three Voter Forums during the campaign season. All Voter Forums will be held at the Community Church, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Candidates for the CSD, MWD and Airport Boards will be featured on Wednesday, September 15. On Wednesday, September 22, Hospital and School Board candidates will be hosted, and Wednesday, September 29 will be the forum for City Council candidates.
