Big Bear City, CA, March 17, 2016 – Shortly after 10:30 a.m. yesterday, deputies responded to a reported assault at a residence in the 500 block of W. Rainbow Boulevard in Big Bear City. Deputies made contact with the involved parties and determined that Ronnie Yeager, the landlord of the property, went to the house and confronted the tenant about past due rent.
A physical altercation ensued and Yeager punched the tenant several times and threw him onto a dining room table, causing it to break. Yeager picked up a heavy decorative object and hit the tenant repeatedly on his head with it. The tenant sustained multiple lacerations on his head, requiring medical treatment.
Ronnie Yeager was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Big Bear Jail on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon (not a firearm). Yeager remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail with an arraignment hearing scheduled for March 18 in San Bernardino County Superior Court.
