Three Juvenile Suspect’s Arrested After Early Morning Burglary

Big Bear, Ca, September 8, 2011, 12:00pm – Shortly after 2:30 this morning, deputies responded to a call of a burglary in progress in the 1000 block of N. Eagle Mountain Drive in Big Bear City.  A neighbor of the victim’s residence heard noises and saw lights being turned on and off inside the house.  The neighbor was aware that the victim is not a full time resident and immediately called 9-1-1 to report the suspicious circumstances.  Upon arrival, deputies found that a sliding glass door of the victim’s residence had been pried open and that there were two male suspects inside the house. It was found later,  that there was a third suspect involved.  Deputies took all three suspects into custody, and discovered them to be three local male juvenile residents, two of which are currently on juvenile probation.  All three juveniles were transported to San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall for booking and/or citation release.  Detention hearings will be scheduled by the Juvenile District Attorney’s Office.  The Big Bear Sheriff’s Station commends the reporting party for their quick action in reporting the suspicious activity which led to the apprehension of the three suspects.  According to the Big Bear Sheriffs Department, burglaries from residences and unlocked vehicles have recently been on the rise.  Community members can assist the Sheriff’s Department in reducing criminal activity within the Valley by getting to know their neighbors, being aware of what is happening in their neighborhood, keeping all doors and windows locked when residences or vehicles are unattended, and reporting unusual or suspicious circumstances.   All emergencies or crimes in progress should be immediately reported by calling 9-1-1.   Anonymous tips can also be reported by contacting WETIP at (800) 78-CRIME.
