Big Bear, Ca, April 1, 2011, 8:00am – Due to the recent 8.9 earthquake that hit Japan earlier in March, Bear Mountain will be hosting a Jib for Japan this Sunday April 3rd. The snowboarding event will be a special contest that will benefit victims of the Japan earthquake and Tsunami. Jib for Japan will feature a snowboard contest, demos, raffles, and auctions with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami relief fund. The organizer of the event is professional snowboarder Ray Takahashi, a Japanese national champion told KBHR he hopes to raise money for the Japanese relief effort, and get the word out that they still need assistance. Jib for Japan will take place at Bear Mountain, with registration starting at 8am. All are invited to participate and to watch the event.
