Big Bear Lake, CA, August 9, 2010, 3:09pm – UPDATE: Kbear has received additional new information regarding the incident at a private residence on Lagonita Lane in Big Bear Lake this morning at approximately 9:30am that has resulted in the death of the victim. Family members have reported to Big Bear Lake fire personnel that the 75-year-old male had been standing on a private dock. They briefly turned away and when they looked again the victim was lying in the water. Lake patrol, local fire agencies and Big Bear Sheriff’s deputies where called to the scene. When paramedics arrived, Sheriff deputies were performing CPR on the victim. A Big Bear City Fire ambulance transported him to Bear Valley Community Hospital. In route paramedics were able to regain a pulse. The man was transported via Mercy Air to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he later died. The name of the victim is not being released at this time. Family members say he was an epileptic, however, he was on medication and had not had a seizure in years. An autopsy is likely to be conducted by the coroner’s office to determine cause of death.
