Memorial Day weekend in the Big Bear Valley signals yard sale season and, for those within the City of Big Bear Lake, a no-permit fee is first required before you schlep your used treasures to the yard. No-fee yard sale permit applications are available at the public counter of the Civic Center, located at Big Bear Lake’s west end at 39707 Big Bear Boulevard. The Civic Center is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm and, given the busy holiday week, the City will allow for residents to either drop by the Civic Center to log their address, or call 866-5831 to be added to the yard sale list. If posting yard sale signs, the City reminds not to place them on power poles, street sign or traffic signal poles, or any object in the public right-of-way. Also, please do not post signage on trees, as doing so could cause potential damage.
