Big Bear, Ca, January 6, 2011, 12:00pm – Yesterday at approximately 3:00pm, there was a head on collision on Highway 38, resulting in two fatalities. Local Big Bear man Frederick Foltz, was traveling in the up bound lane in his Toyota Tacoma, and for unknown reasons at this time, drifted into the down bound lane, and hit Michael and William Young in their Ford 150. Foltz, 65-year-old resident of Big Bear Lake, was pronounced dead on scene. Michael Young, 45 of Yucaipa was transported to Loma Linda Medical Center, where he passed at 3:46pm. William Young, 43 was the passenger of the F 150, was transported to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, with major injuries. William Young is still in the hospital at this time. Due to the accident Highway 38 was temporarily closed yesterday, and reopened at 7:00pm. The accident is under investigation.
