Big Bear, Ca, January 20, 2011, 8:00am – At approximately 7:15am on the morning of January 19th, an approximate 45 year old female resident of Sugarloaf was driving a green Ford Explorer westbound on Highway 38, approaching the South Fork Santa Ana River Bridge. For reasons still under investigation, the female lost control of the Ford on an icy section of the roadway. According to the CHP, the Ford rotated clockwise as it veered off the roadway and began to overturn onto its left side. The roof of the Ford impacted a large tree on the right shoulder and the Ford came to rest against the tree. The female driver and the unidentified at this time right front male passenger sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. The rear passengers, Patrick Anderson, 43 year old resident of Big Bear Lake, and Catryce Streeter 39 year old resident of Big Bear Lake, were transported to Loma Linda Hospital with major injuries. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
