Big Bear Valley, CA — Big Bear’s Habitat for Humanity has two events coming up, including the dedication of their fourth family home in the Big Bear Valley. First, however, Realty Executives hosts the 6th annual Habitat for Humanity Golf Tournament at Bear Mountain Golf Course on Tuesday, June 29. The golf tournament serves as Habitat’s major fundraising event of the year and, per Sally Iazeolla at Realty Execs, “Every penny goes toward Habitat for Humanity, to start the process to build home #5.” There is still space available in the golf event, which will feature eight trophies and, adds Iazeolla, “We would love sponsors, which is $100 to sponsor a hole, and golf players, which is also $100 and includes a classy barbecue lunch and raffles. It is not too late to call us at 584-2202.” Then, on July 11, the volunteers of Habitat for Humanity celebrate their fourth home dedication; the Baldwin Lake house will be home to Gabi Oojgen, a Habitat volunteer, employee of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and single mother of three. According to Habitat President Rick Fromm, “Our dedication of home #4, Gabi’s home, will be a major event in the life of Big Bear Valley Habitat for Humanity. Everyone who has donated, participated in the construction, and/or offered support in any fashion is more than entitled to share in the joy and festivities on this very special day.” The dedication takes place at 3pm on Sunday the 11th, at the new home located at 45385 5th Street on the east side of Baldwin Lake, and will be followed by a celebration party at St. Joseph’s at 42242 North Shore Drive (just east of Stanfield Cutoff).
