Big Bear, CA October 5, 2015 – The 24-hour online web-a-thon is an easy and convenient way to give to favorite causes, charities, and nonprofits in the community. Last year, the 2014 Give BIG campaign provided $548,214 to support the work of nonprofits in our region. Big Bear was well represented in the campaign and took the top three spots in the number of individual donors. The Lighthouse Project had the most donors overall and raised the second most amount of money in the entire county. The Big Bear Valley AAUW Tech Trek Program and the Education Trust were second and third in the number of unique donors. Supervisor James Ramos, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, encourages every nonprofit in the County to visit GiveBIGSBCounty.org to get involved and make those numbers even bigger and better this year.
There is a two-step process for nonprofits to get involved in Give BIG San Bernardino County:
1. Register at The Academy for Grassroots Organizations at academygo.com
2. Apply at Give BIG – Early Bird registration ends October 15th.
Monies raised through the Give BIG 24-hour fundraising web-a-thon will benefit participating nonprofit organizations and the people they serve. These organizations will receive training in the use of social media, marketing, donor cultivation, and follow-up. Nonprofit organizations will expand their fundraising capabilities through participating in the Give BIG San Bernardino County Campaign.
