Big Bear, CA, October 3, 2014 – Caltrans announced a full road closure of SR-18 between the Big Bear Dam and Snow Valley beginning on Monday October 6 and running through Thursday October 30. The closures will take place Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There will be no Friday closures. Caltrans needs the time for cleaning tree cut areas and removing slide material from previous weather events.
Alternate routes are SR-18 to Lucerne and SR-38 to Mentone. However keep in mind that the paving and guardrail project on Highway 38 is still active and flagging will be in place which may cause minor delays when detouring via the 38.
