Friends of Nigel have made available another opportunity for the community to contribute to the Holland family, as seven-year-old Nigel continues his treatments to combat a cancerous brain tumor. Since diagnosed in October, the Big Bear Elementary School second-grader has been spending time with dad Tim and mom Monica at Children’s Hospital of Orange County and, during that time, Friends of Nigel have hosted fundraiser dinners, a snowshoe hike and a ski-a-thon to help the Hollands and show their support for Nigel. The next opportunity to contribute will culminate with the drawing for a 6’ bear carving by George Crezee of Unreal Furnishings. The carved bear, worth $1500, has been on display at First Mountain Bank’s Interlaken branch and, come Friday at noon, Nigel will be present to pull the winning raffle ticket. In the meantime, raffle tickets are available at First Mountain Bank at a suggested donation of three for $5. For more information on Nigel’s condition—though he just completed round three of chemo and got to be home with big brother Lucas for opening day ceremonies of Big Bear Youth Baseball—you can vist Nigel’s CaringBridge website.
