The Inland Empire chapter of the Autism Society of America will be in Big Bear Lake next Tuesday, July 28 to make a special presentation titled “Understanding and Changing Behaviors for Children with Autism: Practical Advice for Parents and Professionals.” The free autism seminar will be presented by Nicole Tisdale, program manager for Applied Behavioral Consultants of Southern California. Tisdale will provide information about how to use evidence-based strategies for increasing desired behaviors, teaching new skills, and decreasing inappropriate behaviors. The workshop is open to parents and professionals directly involved in the care of a child with autism spectrum disorders. The autism seminar will be held at Sizzler Restaurant, at 42137 Big Bear Boulevard, next Wednesday at 12:30pm; the presentation is offered free of charge, though food will be available for purchase.
