Free H1N1 Vaccine Available at County’s Public Health Clinics Off the Mountain

The San Bernardino County Department of Public Health is offering additional opportunities for county residents to receive the H1N1 flu vaccine free of charge at clinics throughout the County, including a weekday opportunity in Victorville next week. This Saturday, November 14, two Public Health Centers will be open from 10am to 2pm; as in weeks past, these clinics include the one in San Bernardino (at 799 Rialto Avenue) and the one in Ontario (at 1647 East Holt Boulevard). On Saturday, the H1N1 flu shot will be available, as will the H1N1 FluMist vaccine, though the latter will only be offered to the following priority groups: pregnant women, those who live with or care for infants younger than six months of age; anyone from ages six months through 24 years; those ages 25 to 64 with certain chronic medical conditions or a weakened immune system; and health care and emergency personnel. Next Tuesday, November 17, individuals through age 49 can receive the FluMist vaccine at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds in Victorville; the temporary clinic, at 14800 Seventh Street, will be open from 10am to noon on Tuesday. Public Clinics in Hesperia, Ontario, Redlands and San Bernardino (at 351 N. Mountain View Avenue) will offer the H1N1 vaccine weekdays from 8:30am to 12:30pm. There are no plans to offer H1N1 vaccines in Big Bear at this time.
