Big Bear Lake, CA — The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department arrested three individuals—24-year-old Brian Ratliff, 19-year-old Robert Standard and 23-year-old Anthony Skinner—for an alleged strong arm robbery at Triangle Market in Big Bear Lake; it was their footprints in the fresh snow that led Sheriff’s deputies to their location. Per the statement issued by the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station: “At approximately 8:40pm April 21, deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station responded to a silent alarm for a robbery in progress at Triangle Market in Big Bear Lake. The store clerk reported that three suspects wearing hoodies and bandannas to mask their appearance came into the store and tried to take the cash register. The clerk was able to activate the store alarm, despite one of the suspect’s attempts to keep the clerk away from the alarm.
The suspects took the drawer from the cash register and fled the scene on foot. The victim was able to provide deputies with a partial description of the suspects and their direction of travel. Surveillance video of the crime was also provided to deputies. Deputies were able to follow clear shoe prints in the freshly fallen snow and track the suspects to a nearby apartment complex. During the tracking of the suspects, clothing worn by the suspects during the commission of the crime was recovered, in addition to the drawer from the cash register. Stolen money was recovered from the apartment.
All three suspects were arrested without incident on felony charges for strong arm robbery and conspiracy and are being detained at the West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bail. Arraignment hearings for the three suspects are set for April 26th at San Bernardino County Superior Court.
Suspects Ratliff and Standard are currently registered as parolees. Suspect Skinner is on felony probation.”
