For sports fans looking for some action, the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District has a couple field trips planned for coming weeks. On Saturday morning, January 16, a luxury bus leaves Meadow Park for the Staples Center, to see the Los Angeles Kings take to the ice against the Boston Bruins. Tickets are $52 per person, and include transportation, ticket to the hockey game, and treats on the bus. On Saturday, February 6, the luxury bus heads back to the Staples Center, but this round is to watch Tim Duncan and Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs on the court against the Los Angeles Clippers for a 7:30pm NBA game. Cost for this trip is $42 and, again, includes transportation, ticket to the basketball game, and treats on the bus. Tickets for both events will likely go quickly, so signups are encouraged, by calling the Rec and Park offices at 866-9700. Children are welcome on both field trips, but must be accompanied by an adult.
