One Fatality On Highway 18/Artic Circle

Yesterday afternoon at about 4:10 pm, KBHR received an eyewitness report of a vehicle over the mountainside at Artic Circle.  That accident has resulted in the death of In Pyo Yi, a 53 year old resident of Los Angeles.  According to the coronor’s office, Yi was traveling southbound on highway 18 in a 2004 Toyota Tacoma when for an unknown reason he left the roadway skimming rocks along the mountainside. He then over-corrected causing the vehicle to cross over the northbound lanes, through the guardrail and over the mountainside.  San Bernardino County Fire paramedics rappelled down the mountainside and confirmed Yi dead at the  scene. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
