Sugarloaf roads were addressed by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors this week, as three agenda items pertaining to such were approved at the meeting of March 3. Both Paul Terry and Jerry Lemke were re-appointed to serve on the County’s Sugarloaf-specific Roads Commission, on terms that will extend through January 2013. Terry and Lemke serve on this commission with fellow Sugarloaf residents Bruce Black, Walter Eggett and Marge McDonald. County Supervisors also approved a contract that would allow for up to $150,000 in snowplow services for the Sugarloaf area. The contract has been awarded to local bidder Ken Willis Construction. The original allotment for Sugarloaf snowplowing services had been $100,000 but, given this year’s substantial snowfall (which, to date, is over 8’ for the Big Bear Valley), over $86,000 has already been expended in this winter season.
