Though San Bernardino County Supervisors did not yet make a BBARWA Board appointment this week, they did approve the other Big Bear-specific agenda item at Tuesday morning’s meeting in San Bernardino. Supervisors approved the retro-active lease extension that would allow for Verizon Wireless to utilize the antenna tower and rack space on Bertha Peak, which is on the North Shore on land leased by the U.S. Forest Service. This extension on the original five-year lease will extend through September 2013. County revenue generated as a result of the extension will be $229,860, which will be applied to the county’s information services budget, per Supervisor Derry’s office.
