County Services Available to Seniors on Wednesday; AARP Food Distribution on Monday

Big Bear seniors will have an opportunity to access government services when tomorrow, and each third Wednesday of the month (weather permitting), Willo Couey of the San Bernardino County Department of Aging and Adult Services comes to the Big Bear Senior Center. From 10am to noon on December 16, with the next round scheduled for January 20, seniors can receive assistance with Home Energy Assistance Program, or HEAP, applications; assistance with senior issues; and, while supplies last, free bus passes for MARTA. Seniors may also want to note that, given the holidays, AARP food distribution will be on Monday, December 21 and, as the Senior Center will be closed next week, food will be distributed at the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District offices, located at the west end of Park Avenue in Big Bear Lake.
