Big Bear, Ca, March 18, 2011, 5:00pm – On Saturday March 19th, the Baldwin Lake Fire Department will be conducting a controlled training burn from the hours of 7:00am to 5:00pm. This will be a state certified fire control III class for the new and current firefighter’s ongoing training in fire behavior and extinguishment of structure fires. The public will see some smoke and fire activity in and around the area of the east side of Baldwin Lake. There will be numerous fire personnel and equipment on scene to assure full control at all times. Residence who would like to observe can do so from the roadway on Baldwin Lake Road, but the Baldwin Lake Fire Department asks that you please keep away from the actual site. If the weather has winds over 20 mph in the area of the exercise, it will be cancelled.
