Big Bear, Ca, April 7, 2011, 4:00pm – The Church of the Nazarene, formerly known as Vintage Fellowship, started out by holding their services in peoples homes. This Sunday the Church of the Nazarene will be holding a Relocation Celebration Service, as they now will be holding services at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church every Sunday at 3:30pm. St. Columbas agreed to make its facilities, located at 42324 North Shore Drive in Big Bear City, available to the Nazarene congregation for their Sunday Services. Several members of the Nazarene group attended Mass at St. Columbas on March 6th to be introduced to the St. Columba’s congregation. “Connectedness is an important part of our life as Christians. It is such a joyous experience to team together with the Episcopal Church with its long-time historical foundation.” Said Pastor of the Church of the Nazarene Dale Fillmore. “Although we are very different in styles of worship, both our churches’ roots are established deep in Christian traditions that exalt Jesus as Lord. We thank the Episcopal Church congregation for opening their sanctuary for our worship.” The celebration that will take place this Sunday, April 10th, will feature lively singing, musical specials, and a sermon. Refreshments will be served afterwards, and the Church invites everyone to stay and eat with them after the sermon, so that everyone can become acquainted.
