Big Bear City, CA — If you haven’t already started on your spring cleaning, the Big Bear City Community Services District offers another incentive to begin as, next weekend, there will be a Electronic Waste Round-Up and Community Clean-Up Day. On Saturday, April 10, East Valley residents will be able to dump electronic waste and white goods at the Paradise Maintenance Yard (on Paradise Way at Grenfall), from 8am to 3pm. Items that will be accepted on this April 10 dump day include: computer monitors, televisions, printers, microwaves, fluorescent tubes, electric space heaters, clothes irons, phones, yard waste, old furniture, mattresses, washers, dryers and hot water heaters. Tires will also be accepted, though no oversized or commercial tires. CSD does ask that hazardous household waste (such as oil, paint and batteries) not be delivered to the Paradise Maintenance Yard; rather, drop-off is accepted at the hazardous waste collection facility at 42040 Garstin Drive in Big Bear Lake. For specifics on hazardous waste collection, call 800-OILY-CAT; for details on CSD’s free April 10 dumping day, call 585-2565.
