Big Bear Valley, CA — Big Bear’s third annual Prayer Walk, in support of the Valley’s youth, takes place April 2, which is Good Friday. All are invited to “carry the cross,” which will make its way from the Big Bear Christian Center at 800 Greenspot in Big Bear City, starting at 9am, and will continue along Big Bear Boulevard, through the Village, and to Veterans Park in Big Bear Lake. Those who want to join in the Prayer Walk further along the route can meet up with the group at 10:30am at the Big Bear Convention Center; transportation will be provided for walkers, from Veterans Park back to the Convention Center. Event organizer Lucy Torres says this is for the kids. “We want to be a beacon of light for them, and show them that we care,” she tells KBHR. “We’re doing the Prayer Walk because these kids have problems and we need to stand up for them, no matter what. That’s why we’re carrying a cross across the Valley. We don’t walk past them, we walk with them.” For more information on the Good Friday Prayer Walk, call Lucy at 585-4739.
