Big Bear Lake, CA, March 7, 2012, 12noon: The City of Big Bear Lake will be conducting two community meetings to review the new Village Streetscape Reconstruction Project details and schedule set to begin construction on April 2nd and run through the summer. The first meeting will be tomorrow, March 8th beginning at 5:30pm and the public is invited, and encouraged, to attend. The second community meeting is scheduled for the following Thursday, March 15th, at 9:00am. Both meetings will be held in Hofert Hall at the Civic Center at 39707 Big Bear Blvd. The project has been coined the name “Village Renaissance” which will include the complete reconstruction of the Village “L” to include all new streets, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, pavers, mid-block crossings, lighting, street signs and two outdoor fire pits and seat walls. The Village will remain open for business during the construction period and no construction will take place from 12noon on Fridays through the weekends. This project will be one of the last items funded by the now dismantled Improvement Agency.
