Big Bear, Ca, August 9, 2011, 3:00pm –The Breakthrough Task Force, part of Big Bear Recovery Services, is holding a community forum tonight (August 9th) to discuss the rave that was scheduled earlier this summer, and how we can keep our young people away from drugs and alcohol. Ron Braasch, a Senior Investigator with the Riverside District Attorneys Office will be speaking tonight at 6:00pm at Community Church by the Lake, in an effort to educate and inform the community of the current rave dance party culture. According to the Breakthrough Task Force, typically attendees at raves have easy access to drugs, particularly the drug ecstasy, and many participants are found to be under the influence or in possession of drugs. The Task Force also stated that 460 invitations to this event were sent on Facebook, with a majority being sent to current and former Big Bear High School students. The public is encouraged to attend and learn more about the nature of these events, and activities that surround them.
