Big Bear, Ca, March 24, 2011, 5:00pm – Sixteen years ago, nine year old Jack Daniel Phillips, also known as JD left his home in Big Bear Lake to go play at the Aspen Glen Picnic Area just one quarter mile down the road. His Mother Michelle Phillips became worried when he had not returned home by 9:00pm. After searching the Aspen Glen area, and not finding her son, she enlisted the help of the Sheriff’s office. A search for JD was conducted on foot, by horseback, on all terrain vehicles, and helicopters. Fliers were distributed throughout the Big Bear area, and throughout Southern California, including Bakersfield. Despite these search efforts, nothing pertinent to the investigation has been found. As a way to bring attention back to the case, 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie-of-the-Year driver Kevin Conway is stepping up to assist the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office in the missing juvenile cold case. Conway will carry images and contact information on the deck lid of his Extenze Toyota racecar. The race will take place this weekend at the Auto Club Speedway. “At ExtenZe and NEMCO Motorsports we like to do our part to give back to the communities and markets we race in and couldn’t be more thrilled to help out and honor the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department in the Jack Phillips missing juvenile case,” said 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie-of-the-Year driver Kevin Conway. “This case has eluded San Bernardino law enforcement long enough and we just want to step up and do our part to dust off this case the best we can. With the reach and platform NASCAR gives us we hope that by carrying images and contact information on our car of the Phillips case we will reach that one person out there that may know something that could help solve this case.” If you have any information regarding missing person JD Phillips you are urged to call the anonymous WE TIP Hotline at 1- 800- 78 CRIME.
