Big Bear City residents are encouraged to clean up their properties in the coming days, as a code enforcement sweep has been scheduled for next Tuesday. Per the press release issued by the Sheriff’s Department: “Deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station, along with officials from San Bernardino County Code Enforcement and California Highway Patrol officers, will be conducting a Problem Oriented Policing Sweep in East Big Bear City on July 28. Issues of concern are abandoned vehicles, boats and trailers; vehicles with expired registration tags that are parked on County roadways; and residences with refuse and scrap in the yards. Similar sweeps conducted within the Valley over the last three months have resulted in a total of 121 tows, several cases opened on residences in violation of County codes, and numerous other citations being written for violation of County and vehicle codes. Residents of the entire Big Bear Valley are encouraged to take the necessary actions to ensure their vehicles and properties meet current code requirements.”
