With tomorrow being the first day of July, first Wednesday of the month meetings are scheduled to take place, and this includes the Planning Commission of the City of Big Bear Lake and the Board of Directors of the Big Bear Airport District.
At 1:15pm on July 1, the Planning Commission meets in Hofert Hall at the Civic Center. Public Hearing Items on the agenda include a proposal to subdivide a 3.38 acre parcel into four parcels, in an area zoned Single Family Residential in the 200 block of north Starvation Flats Road, as well as a request from the Old Miners’ Association to hold the Miss Clementine pageant in the Bartlett parking lot on July 12, and to include the Village L in the Old Miners’ Days Parade on August 2. The Planning Commission will also review a proposal from Urban Housing Communities, to construct a 42-unit affordable housing complex on 2.6 acres at 737 and 773 Knickerbocker Road.
The Airport District Board meeting, to be held at 2pm in the pilots lounge at the airport in Big Bear City, will include an update on the new hangar construction and a report from the Personnel Committee with regard to the hiring of a new general manager (a post that is being filled in the interim by former GM Dick Lightner).
The Big Bear Municipal Water District, the agency that oversees the lake, has adjourned their regularly scheduled meeting for Thursday, July 2 due to lack of a quorum.
