Big Bear, Ca, May 25, 2011, 2:00pm – The City of Big Bear Lake Public Works Department is working on many different projects around the city to “Spruce Up For Spring.” Public works crews will be inspecting city sidewalks for repairs, repainting all parking stalls and curbs at city facilities, replanting city parks as needed, street sweeping and street striping, pothole repair, replacing downed street signs, and cleaning up lake access points. Specifically in the Village, crews will be repairing broken curbs, painting parking stalls and curbs, replanting and sprucing up landscape areas, repainting directional signs, painting light poles, and changing out banners. Public Works crews will be working on a new project this year to beautify the corner of Paine and Big Bear Blvd, as it is one of the main entrances to the Village. The city invites you to “Spruce Up with Us! Now is the time to give extra attention to your yard or the outside of your home. Plant a garden, re-paint the outside of the home, or touch up decks.” For more information on these projects, contact the Public Works Department at (909) 866-7521.
