Big Bear Lake, CA — In honor of International Building Safety Month in May, the City of Big Bear Lake will host its 12th annual Building and Safety Open House on Thursday, May 6, from 4 to 7pm in the Big Bear Lake Civic Center (located at 39707 Big Bear Boulevard, at the west end of Big Bear Lake). Residents, homeowners, contractors and industry partners are welcomed to this free event, which will be preceded by an informational seminar, from 2:30 to 4pm; the seminar will include staff from City departments, including Code, Engineering, Planning, Building and Safety, who will be on hand to answer questions on the 2010 California Building Codes. As noted by the City’s Director of Building and Planning Jim Miller, “The City’s Building and Safety Division is responsible for making sure buildings in our community are safe and that public safety remains our number one concern. Developers, builders and the public will receive updates on new codes at this informative event.” For more information on Thursday’s free Building and Safety Open House, call the offices of the City of Big Bear Lake at 866-5831.
