Big Bear, CA, December 3, 2013 – According to Charter’s Regional Director of Communications, Brian Anderson, Charter crews are working towards complete restoration of Charter services to the Big Bear Valley. Just before 2am this morning, it came to their attention that a large section of the Big Bear Valley was without service. Upon investigation, it was determined that it appeared vandals had severed a bundled fiber optic line that carries all of Charter’s services through that line. Although service wasn’t interrupted to all Charter customers in the valley, many were impacted. The line is located in a wooded area a quarter mile west of Division in Big Bear Lake. Work crews have been able to restore service to about half of the impacted area and are working towards full restoration which will hopefully be completed within the next few hours. However, an exact time for full restoration is unknown at this time.
