Big Bear, Ca, November 22, 2011, 12:00pm – Last fall, the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, Big Bear Lake Resort Association, partnering with the City of Big Bear Lake, created a marketing campaign and website targeting 2nd homeowners in the Big Bear area. The 2nd homeowner marketing program is a web based campaign through www.InsideBigBear.com, and a bi-monthly e-blast to a subscriber list of over 200 subscribers and growing each week. The website focuses on shopping, dining, homeownership, maintenance, décor, events, and recreation, which is all free to subscribers. “The goal for the new campaign is to help our 2nd homeowners feel like locals and truly experience Big Bear,” said Sara Russ, President/CEO of the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce. “Through this campaign we want to bring the unique, fun and interesting things Big Bear has to offer to our 2nd homeowners to ensure they shop, eat and play in Big Bear as much as possible.” According to a recent study conducted by the City of Big Bear Lake, 73% of the homes in the city of Big Bear Lake are 2nd homes, with a permanent population of close to 20,000 residents. “When we realized that no one was marketing to this specific demographic that already has a significant financial stake in our community, we had to jump at the opportunity,” said Rick Shoup, CEO of the Big Bear Lake Resort Association. “Our 2nd homeowners represent our number one visitor. They love Big Bear and want to explore everything it has to offer, InsideBigBear.com provides them that ‘inside’ information to do just that.” If you are interested in becoming a subscriber to the site, please contact Sara Russ at the Chamber of Commerce at (909) 866-4067.
