Big Bear, CA, September, 9, 2010, 3:00pm – In addition to the Lighthouse Project Voter Forums, voters will have additional opportunities to hear from the candidates running for local offices through Candidate Forums hosted by The Big Bear Chamber of Commerce. The first will be held on September 20th at the Performing Arts Center, in Big Bear Lake, from 6-9:15pm for the Big Bear Lake City Council and Bear Valley Unified School District candidates, and on October 6th for the Big Bear City Community Services District candidates at the Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency on Palomino Road in Big Bear City, from 6-8pm. Both forums will have a “meet and greet” with the candidates from 5:45-6pm with coffee and refreshments. The forums will be conducted in a question and answer format with a moderator, who has yet to be selected. Questions are tailored to focus on the business community, economy and current issues facing Big Bear. To ensure fairness the candidates will not receive the questions in advance and all candidates have been invited to attend. Forums are free to the public and coordinated by the Chamber to ensure that Valley residents have the opportunity to learn about each candidate and their positions on local issues.
