Big Bear, Ca July 15, 2011 1:00 pm – With much of Los Angeles in an uproar over the closing of the parts of the 405 this weekend, Big Bear would like to offer a solution. Come visit our cool mountain air, beautiful lake, great hiking and mountain biking trails, cozy cabins, full-service hotels, and restaurants for any taste, even Nepalese! No need to travel the 405 freeway to get here. Big Bear is far away from the city’s congestion and traffic. Of course, residents, second homeowners, and visitors to Big Bear this past winter and spring are chuckling a little behind their hands. Having survived a seven month closure on one of Big Bear’s main access highways, two days doesn’t seem like such a big deal. Now, thanks to the efforts of many people at the state and local level, highway 330 is open. Big Bear would like to invite those avoiding traffic snarls in Los Angeles for a visit. It’s a great solution to carmegeddon, this weekend and all year.
