Big Bear, Ca, January 10, 2011, 5:00pm – Cal Trans approved one emergency contract late Friday night to begin repairs on Highway 330. The 6 Million dollar contract is for the small repairs including the small road washouts, and culvert work. The contractor is starting the staging process, by clearing the roadway of debris, and putting up signage. The contract for the large road loss is still in the works, according to Terri Kasinga of Cal Trans. The contract for the major wash outs will be considerably more than 6 million, and should be approved in the next few weeks. Cal Trans told KBHR that their goal is to make the repairs as quickly, efficiently and as cost effective as possible.
