Big Bear, Ca, November 28, 2011, 4:00pm – This Thanksgiving Holiday weekend brought people from across California, Nevada, and Arizona to celebrate the holiday in Big Bear. Friday evening in the Village, it is estimated that over 1,000 people were in attendance for the annual tree lighting ceremony, filling the Village streets with holiday cheer. Snow Summit and Bear Mountain both sold out on Friday and Saturday, and many people were seen walking through the village, on the Alpine Pedal Path, and on other hiking trails in the valley. Some cyclists even enjoyed the warmer weather, and were seen riding around town, and up and down the back grade. The Village and other local businesses were busy this weekend with Black Friday and weekend shoppers stocking up on holiday gifts. Bear Mountain and Snow Summit still have early season rates in effect, for more information, or to get your season pass today, go to www.BigBearMountainResorts.com
