Big Bear, CA, May 12, 2016 – On Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., the Breakthrough Task Force will host an Open House to showcase the work of the coalition over the past year and introduce residents of the Big Bear Valley to the Homeless Outreach Proactive Enforcement (HOPE) Team of San Bernardino County.
The Breakthrough Task Force is a local coalition dedicated to finding ways to reduce underage access and use of alcohol and other drugs through positive and creative community efforts. The coalition is comprised of community members and partners who have an interest in seeing these goals accomplished. In the past year the Breakthrough Task Force has made many positive impacts in the community, and this event will allow residents to see those accomplishments as well as learn about current issues the group is working on.
In addition to celebrating the recent undertakings the group has had, this Open House will also give community members information about an issue the Breakthrough Task Force has recently been working on, the issue of homelessness. At the beginning of the Open House the HOPE team will be present to give a brief presentation on what they do. The vision of HOPE is to increase the quality of life for all citizens of San Bernardino County, by reducing crime associated with the homeless population and subsequently saving tax payer cost and resources. This presentation will allow community members to learn what the team is doing at the County level to assist the homeless population in our area.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this event. It will be held at The Mom and Dad Project which is located at 41820 Garstin Dr. in Big Bear Lake. The HOPE presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m. For more information please email the Breakthrough Task Force at BTF4Prevention.
